Miona Acton
I believe I offer a caring, non-judgemental and compassionate approach to my counselling. I have been working with individuals, couples and families for over 30 years in a variety of settings.
Asking for help is a difficult concept for many of us, so I understand that when you have decided to seek psychological support or couples counselling you may feel vulnerable. With this in mind, my aim as a therapist is to build a trusting therapeutic connection and work with you (or your partner/family) to help you find the solutions to your concerns, to be mindful of your knowledge of yourself and to help you build your resilience.
Along with my professional qualifications, I have training in many different modalities, including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, and level one training in Gottman’s Couples therapy. I believe that this allows me to work with my clients in an approach that is tailored to their individual needs, as no one therapy works for everyone.
